Standard information that applies to every order:

Service Fee:
  At check-out we add a service fee of $ 28.75 to every order, whatever the size of the order.  The service fee covers our fixed costs (specimen collection, physician and transaction fees) for each order.  By charging a service fee, we are able to mark our lab unit costs as low as possible.  

Order Eligibility:  You must be 18 years of age, and not a resident of NY, NJ, or RI.  Only one person can be on each lab order. If ordering for two persons, for instance, you would need to make two orders.

Shelf-life of Lab Orders:  Your lab order will be valid for 6 months. 

Refunds:  Refunds are available for 6 months.  The refund amount will be the price you paid for your unused lab form, less the service fee.

Time to fullfill Order:  During normal East Coast business hours, expect your lab form from us within 2 hours. During evenings, holidays and weekends, expect your lab form within 12 hours. Your lab form is what you will print to take with you to the lab.

 
 Q. How does the ordering process for ordering my own lab tests work?

A. You select the test you want online and open a confidential password-protected mailbox for yourself on our secure server. With in two hours during the business day, you will receive an email indicating your Lab  Form is ready to download. This is the form that you will print and take to the Lab that you chose during the ordering process. No appointment is necessary at the lab, but they are available and maybe required for Saturday visits in some areas.

At the lab, you will present the laboratory requisition form to the receptionist. You will not need to pay any additional fees. A technician will draw the appropriate blood specimen for the tests you have paid for as indicated on your Laboratory Form from Inquire Labs. If you have ordered a urine test, the technician will provide you with a collection cup & top and direct you to a private lavatory.

Inquire Labs receives your laboratory results directly from the laboratory. We upload your results into your secure on-line mailbox, and then send you an email indicating that your results are ready (in PDF).

 Q: I didn't get an email with my laboratory requisition form. 
  1. Check your junk or spam mailbox in case our email did not go to your inbox. 
  2.  Or, Login to our website to get your lab form (and results when applicable):
    • Log in to www.InquireLabs.com using the user id and password you established
    • Go to your Order History by clicking on "Welcome, User ID!"
    • Click the eyeball icon under details next to your order number to obtain your form (on a smart phone you might need to scroll to the right)

 Q. Will I be able to read my laboratory results?

A. The laboratory provides the "Reference Interval" for each test that is reported on your results. The Reference Interval is the normal result. If any of your results are outside of the Reference Interval, the results will also be flagged to help draw your attention to this result. Any abnormal results should be followed-up with your  personal physician consult. 

Q. Will my insurance reimburse me for the cost if I order my own online lab tests?

A. Generally,  health insurance companies do not reimburse for self-ordered tests. We can not provide you with a diagnostic code, which is what insurance companies look for to prove medical necesity. We can not provide you an "itemized receipt",  which is  something the insurance companies often ask you to produce. In the absence of solid evidence from your health insurance company, please assume that you will not be reimbursed. 

 Q. If more information is needed about my lab test results, whom should I consult?

A. You should consult your personal physician.  A good way to prepare for that discussion is by consulting this non-profit, patient information website:  www.labtestsonline.org

 Q. I haven’t received my lab results and it has been 24 hours. What should I do?

A. Some results take longer (refer to the test you ordered under "Tests Offered"). If you have not heard from us in the normal reporting time, please contact us by email or telephone: info@inquirelabs.com and (703) 534-6766.

Q. How do I determine what online lab test(s) to order?

A. Please review each test profile on this website for details, review labtestsonline.org, and/or consult your physician.

 
 Q. My HSA Administrator needs a receipt? Can I obtain one?
  1. Log in to www.InquireLabs.com using the user id and password you established.
  2. Go to your Order History by clicking on "Welcome, User ID!"
  3. Click the eyeball icon next to your order number and the order details will be displayed on your screen. On a smart phone, you may need to scroll to the right.
  4. Use your browser's print function to print the page; this is the receipt information for your order.
     You may also need the credit card receipt provided to you by your bank.
